The project
Produced for Estate Media Prisen 2025, the Danish real estate industry's own awards, this piece was made in a run of eight to ten across several categories. The subject of the award is the industry itself, so the award is a city.
The approach
A generic skyline says nothing in particular. Using buildings that people actually recognise turns the object from decoration into something an audience can point at, so the skyline is built from real Danish architecture: Arne Jacobsen's SAS Royal Hotel, now the Radisson Collection Royal Hotel, Papirøen, and one of the Axel Towers. Setting the company's own mark into the middle of that skyline places Estate Media inside the industry rather than above it.
How it was made
The city is 3D printed and finished in dark grey, with the buildings modelled as one connected group rather than as separate towers, so the skyline holds together as a single solid form. The mark at the centre is the Estate Media logotype, a lowercase e, cut from black acrylic and painted gold. The base is solid smoked oak, carrying an acrylic plaque engraved with the award category and the year. Each award stands around 20 cm tall.
Where the same approach works
An award built around recognisable landmarks does more work than an abstract one, because the audience reads it before anyone has to explain it. The same approach suits industry awards, city and property recognition pieces, anniversary objects, and any trophy that needs to say where it comes from.
