Prototyping Cases
Custom 3D-Printed Mold for Silicone Prototyping
This project involved creating a custom mold to prototype a flexible, rubber-like product for testing purposes. The goal was to design a functional mold that could accurately form the required shape and be easily reproduced using 3D printing and silicone casting.
The mold was 3D modeled to ensure precise geometry and efficient assembly. The design featured interlocking components for secure alignment during the casting process. The mold was then fabricated using 3D printing, leveraging PLA and other rigid materials for durability and dimensional accuracy. Silicone was poured into the assembled mold to create a stretchy and flexible prototype.
The outcome was a successfully produced rubbery product that matched the design specifications. The setup provided a reliable means to test and refine the material’s performance, serving as a critical step in product development. The process also demonstrated the effectiveness of rapid prototyping with 3D printing and silicone casting.
Custom Sauce Packaging Prototype
This project focused on developing custom packaging for a garlic-based sauce created by a chef. The objective was to design a bottle that highlights the main ingredient, garlic, while ensuring practicality and an appealing aesthetic.
The packaging was designed in 3D, incorporating a garlic-shaped embossment on the front face of the bottle to represent the sauce's key ingredient visually. The design prioritized functionality, including considerations for ergonomic handling, a secure cap, and efficient production. A 3D-printed prototype was produced to evaluate the design and validate its dimensions, appearance, and usability.
The resulting prototype successfully captured the essence of the product while demonstrating the potential for manufacturing. It provided a tangible representation of the final product, enabling feedback and refinement before production.
